Gum is a hardwood and when used as a firewood it is slow burning and produces great heat.

As it is a hardwood it can be difficult to start the fire with and is more suitable to use once your fire is already going. For this reason, We advise that you purchase Gum firewood along with a softwood such as Pine firewood or Pine Block – which are both great for getting fires going quickly.
