THIS WOOD IS ONLY SEMI SEASONED - Stored correctly it will be ready to burn in approx. 4 - 6 weeks

Radiata pine has a large quantity of resin or gum in the wood which is why it burns so fast and gives instant heat and likes to pop and crackle. When burnt the resin forms a tar light substance which will stick to and line the inside of your flue/chimney and is a major factor in causing chimney fires.  It is very easy to lite which makes it a good wood to start your fire with however we do not recommend burning it all night as the amount of heat given per log is minimal and the logs will burn a lot quicker when compared to a hardwood.

For a hotter and slower burning wood try switching to our Blue Gum or Beech once the fire is established with pine.
